Dear Felix,

I hope you can help me.

I saw a creature in my garden last weekend that at first I thought
was a painted paper plate. It was small-ish, round-ish and seemed to
be quite blue (ish). It had two big and bright eyes that looked
around very carefully. I didn't want to frighten it so I stayed out
of sight. It seemed to be looking for something and was saying
something in a language I didn't recognize. It sounded like it was
saying the word "how" over and over again. Suddenly it giggled in a
very high pitched voice - and disappeared into the foliage!

Because I was intrigued by this creature I called the Royal British
Institute for All Known Animal Life (RBIAKAL) to find out what it
was. They said that couldn't give me an answer but they'd heard of
other such sightings, and knew that a research project to get to the
bottom of things was going on at the University of Manitoba in Canada.

I contacted the University, and the man in the Department of Non-
Conventional Creature Studies (DNCCS) told me that they had been
spending tens of thousands of Canadian dollars on trying to establish
who - or what - these creatures are. Without success. All he could
tell me was that they are members of the species 'Bocoblobus' but,
going by my description, perhaps yet another undiscovered strain.

I also asked my mate Dave if he knew what they were. But he didn't
know either.

So, I put the word in a search engine - and got your details.

I think what I saw was an actual bocy, and I thought I'd better
report it. Clearly, not many people are aware of bocys and I'm sure
you're concerned to monitor bocy activity and promote their well-being.

I hope this is useful to you.

If I can help further, please let me know.

Good luck with the bocy work.

Bill
